ICE!!

Appears in many forms.  Of course, one of my favorites is

We’ve had quite a spell of it lately in other forms, and I’ve shown you some that formed in our river/back yard, and yesterday with warming temps, apparently a bunch cut loose from upstream and came cruising by

And the (it wasn’t called an ice) storm on Sunday brought us a slippery coating on all the inanimate objects such as streets, sidewalks, and driveways.  We are to the point when it does that, we just stay inside....being retired does have its benefits.  Anyway, after what seemed like an eternity, temperatures rose above zero degrees Celsius and things began to shed their coating of ice.  Our magnolia tree gave us a look at an “ice leaf” that slid off its host

And our “Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick” tree with its curly branches looked nice with a shiny coating

Kind of reminding one of “ice worms”

Holly trees are always photogenic with their nice glossy leaves

And upon closer inspection I see that a remaining string of Christmas Lights was unwittingly captured (can you see it?).
Speaking of “icing” one wag remarked that he liked his icing on cakes…  sigh..

And, in depressing caution, we still have our driveway marked for plowing with those day glow stakes,

two of which were pressed into service for welcoming super bowl guests, and have not lost their decorative “caps” (helmets?) and one could say that the “Patriot” version looks a little happier than the Seattle one

But regardless of the conditions when the sun comes out, everybody perks up.

and now that you've scrolled down some, a kind of interesting about the picture up above of the ice leaf on the magnolia tree.  I (engineer) of course looked at it as a piece of ice that slid off a leaf.  When MFO looked at it, she said "It looks like a shrew!!".  She's right..  all in the eye of the beholder..

It's Elemental!

By now everybody knows that the proprietor of Blue Wind has moved south to preside over the former Tides, which will now be known as

Classy, eh?   will be debuting on the 10th.

We did our part this morning to help with the startup by bringing fifty pounds of WAG (Willy A. Goddard) ground beef from his location near Leonardtown to the restaurant.   As one reader noted, for this trip the MOMSTER could be called “The Chuck Wagon”… get it?

And I suspect that when attending the new place, one Element should be
